Management Team

Patrick Yeung Mr. Patrick Yeung joined Dragonair as Chief Executive Officer in August 2011, bringing with him years of valuable experience in the airline industry.

Prior to taking up his current position with Dragonair, Mr Yeung was Director, General Manager and Chief Representative of John Swire & Sons (China) Limited, overseeing the group’s development and investment strategies in Mainland China. He joined the Swire Group in 1980 and has worked in numerous managerial positions for Swire Shipping and Cathay Pacific Group. Mr Yeung has also held a number of key postings abroad including the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. In 2004 – 2007, he became Cathay Pacific General Manager Southeast Asia.

Mr Yeung served as Dragonair and Cathay Pacific’s General Manager China from 2007 – 2009, managing the operation of the two airlines in Mainland China. He was also Managing Director of Cathay Pacific Holidays Limited from 1998 – 2004, during which the business has been transformed from departmental operation to individual corporate.

Mr Yeung holds a Bachelor's Degree in Social Science from the University of Hong Kong.
Andy Wong Mr. Andy Wong was appointed General Manager - Inflight Services in August 2012.

He is responsible for all matters relating to inflight services in Dragonair including cabin crew management, inflight catering and inflight sales. He is also in charge of the development and implementation of inflight service improvements in order to further enhance Dragonair’s status as a leader in regional inflight passenger services.

Prior to this appointment, Mr. Wong was Manager Inflight Services Department Strategic Planning at Cathay Pacific. He joined the Cathay Pacific Group in 2000 and among his senior appointments was Cathay Pacific’s Country Manager Benelux & Scandinavia from 2008 to 2010.

Mr. Wong graduated from McMaster University in Ontario, Canada in 1998 as a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering. He has an MBA from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of London.
Alex Lau Mr. Alex Lau was appointed as Dragonair’s General Manager International Affairs on 1 April 2013. He is responsible for the airline’s traffic rights as well as handling regulatory issues.

Before joining Dragonair, Mr. Lau was General Manager Commercial at Air Hong Kong from 2004 to 2013, responsible for commercial issues as well as airline planning, international affairs and ground handling arrangements.

Before joining Air Hong Kong he was Manager Cargo Sales Development for Cathay Pacific, working in the airline’s Cargo Department from 1988 to 2004.

Mr Lau holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Hong Kong.
Captain Peter Sanderson Captain Peter Sanderson was appointed General Manager Operations in September 2008. He oversees the development and management of policies in the airline's Operations Division to ensure the safe, effective and economical operation of the airline's fleet. He also manages all elements of operational activity to ensure Dragonair complies fully with the requirements of its Air Operator's Certificate.

Captain Sanderson has considerable experience in the aviation industry. He joined Dragonair in 1993 and has held various positions including Check & Training Captain, Manager Airbus and Assistant General Manager Operations. Prior to joining Dragonair, Captain Sanderson worked for the UK carrier Dan-Air and served in the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm. He recently graduated from the INSEAD Asian Executive Programme.
Grace Lee Ms. Grace Lee was appointed Head of Corporate Communication for Dragonair in January 2010.

She is responsible for the operation and strategic direction of the airline’s network-wide corporate communication, including all public and media relations, public affairs and corporate social responsibility programmes.

Prior to taking up her new position, Ms Lee was Marketing Director for the Hong Kong Design Centre. She has extensive experience in the areas of marketing and communications, including media and stakeholder relations, corporate communications, publications, event management, sponsorship and fundraising, and business matching. She has worked in both the business and public sectors for organisations involved in tourism, banking, sports, education and the design industry.

Ms Lee graduated from the Hong Kong Baptist University and later gained a Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Strathclyde in the United Kingdom.
Kwok Chan Dr. Kwok Chan was appointed Head of Corporate Safety and Quality in September 2004. In this position, he is responsible for maintaining the highest level of operational safety by ensuring safety and quality policies, processes and regulations are complied with in all areas of Dragonair's operations. He also ensures the company's Safety and Quality Management System is in compliance with the standards of the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department, the International Civil Aviation Organization and the International Air Transport Association.

Prior to joining Dragonair, Dr. Chan was in various management positions at Airbus Industrie in France and the UK. He started his aviation career as a graduate aircraft design engineer with British Aerospace, Airbus Division, in the UK. He was later transferred to Airbus headquarters in France to head up various management positions in engineering until finally becoming the Director of Flight Safety, in charge of safety and accident investigations.

Dr. Chan holds a Ph.D in aircraft systems engineering and is a registered chartered engineer with the UK Engineering Council as well as a private pilot. He is married with two children.
Darryl Chan Mr. Darryl Chan was appointed Head of Engineering in August 2008. He is responsible for ensuring the Dragonair fleet is safe and reliable by working with partners Cathay Pacific Airways, Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited and Taikoo (Xiamen) Aircraft Engineering Company Limited. He is also a Director of Dah Chong Hong - Dragonair Airport GSE Services Limited.

Prior to joining Dragonair, Mr Chan held various management positions in Cathay Pacific Airways, starting as an Engineering Trainee in 1990 and held a variety of posts including Technical Services Manager (Boeing), Manager Aircraft Engineering and Manager Engineering Planning.

Mr Chan is a Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and Honorary Secretary of its Hong Kong Branch. He is also Deputy Chairman of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers Aircraft Engineering Discipline Advisory Panel and Executive Member of the Hong Kong Aviation Industry Association.

Mr Chan works extensively with local education and is an advisor for Hong Kong University, Hong Kong Polytechnic University & VTC Youth College.

Mr Chan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Air Transport Engineering from the City University London.
Wendy Kwan Ms. Wendy Kwan was appointed Head of Personnel for Dragonair in August 2012. She is responsible for overseeing the overall personnel function within Dragonair, ensuring the establishment and implementation of proper personnel policies, good employment practices and a corporate benefits programme with the aim of meeting specific human resources requirements and ensuring that Dragonair operates as a good employer.

Ms. Kwan concurrently holds the position of Head, Personnel Management Hong Kong Ground Staff in Cathay Pacific Airways and oversees the personnel management for all ground employees based in Hong Kong. She joined the Swire Group in 1986 and later transferred to Cathay Pacific where she held various Personnel positions within the airline.

Ms. Kwan holds a Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Business Administration from Simon Fraser University in Canada.
