Environment

The biggest initiative in our CSR Programme to-date has been the inflight charity campaign to raise funds for The Nature Conservancy (TNC), Change for Conservation. It began on January 1, 2004 and is now ongoing. The fund is used in northwest Yunnan to: create a system of protected areas with the policies and funding necessary to sustain them; to protect vital watershed areas, especially along the Yangtze and Mekong rivers; to alleviate poverty, one of the principal causes of unsustainable natural resource use and biodiversity loss; and, to develop sustainable economic alternatives for the people there.

As of May 2, 2008, a total of HK$6,680,702 has been raised.
