Note 1: As per Australia security requirements, a secondary LAG screening at the boarding gate of Hong Kong international airport is required for passengers departing for Australia. This is to ensure that no excessive LAGs - item(s) over 100ml per bottle and 1000ml in total - to be carried onboard. Passengers arriving in Australia without further connecting flights can still purchase duty free LAGs in-flight on the last sector of their journey. Passengers travelling on CX flights with Australia domestic connection transiting at Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney are eligible to purchase Duty Free LAGs-items onboard, provided that they fulfil the aforementioned pre-requisites.
Note 2: Similar to the Australia security requirements, the U.S. government also requires a secondary security screening at the departure gate in HKG international airport to ensure no excessive LAGs to be carried onboard CX U.S. bound flights. Arrival passengers to U.S. can purchase duty free LAGs in-flight on the final sector of their journey e.g. JFK bound passengers travelling on a HKG-YVR-JFK flight can purchase duty free on the YVR-JFK sector. Likewise, arrival passengers to Canada e.g. YYZ bound passengers travelling on the HKG-ANC-YYZ flight can purchase duty free on the ANC-YYZ sector.
Note 3: Duty free LAG items purchased at airports outside the European Union will be confiscated by security during a connection in an EU country, even if the passenger is making a connection on the same flight to another airport within the European Union. However, duty free LAGs can be purchased upon departure or in-flight on the last sector of the journey. For example, Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport (CDG) bound passengers travelling on HKG-AMS-CDG can purchase duty free LAG items on the AMS-CDG sector.
