Musical Instrument
Musical instrument carried as cabin or check-in baggage must be kept inside a sturdy and protective hard case with rounded edges. Musical instrument in soft case will not be accepted, and no hard case will be provided by us.
Small musical instrument such as a violin or a flute within the size of 78 cm (31 in) x 25 cm (10 in) x 15 cm (6 in) and within the weight of 5 kg (11 lb), inclusive of the hard case, can be carried on board if it can be stowed safely inside the overhead locker. Please be prepared to check in the instrument if stowage space is not available. The instrument is considered part of your Cabin Baggage Allowance.
Other musical instruments such as guitars exceeding the above limits or the Cabin Baggage Allowance must be checked in as checked baggage.
Alternatively, passenger can purchase an extra seat for the musical instrument. Please make your request with our local office or your travel agent at least 3 working days prior to the scheduled departure date and advise us of the exact dimensions and weight of your musical instrument including the hard case. Dimensions and weight limitation for a musical instrument on an extra seat are:

If you prefer not to have your musical instrument kept in an upside-down position, please check in your instrument as checked baggage.
Seats in the First and Business classes may be able to accommodate a musical instrument in an upright position or a musical instrument exceeding the common dimensions of Height 136 cm (54 in) x Width 48 cm (19 in) x Depth 44 cm (17 in), please contact our local office or your travel agent for details.
Note: A canvas bag is used to secure the musical instrument to the seat
