Algernon Yau

Mr Algernon Yau was appointed as CEO of Dragonair in July 2014 and oversees all the commercial aspects and operations of airline.

Prior to taking up his current role, from July 2011 Mr Yau was Chief Executive Officer of Cathay Pacific Services Ltd, the wholly owned subsidiary of Cathay Pacific Airways that operates the new Cathay Pacific Cargo Terminal at Hong Kong International Airport. He was responsible for leading and overseeing the development and execution of the company’s long-term business strategy.

From 2008 to 2011, Mr Yau was General Manager HKIA overseeing Cathay Pacific’s ground operations at the airport.

Mr Yau started his aviation career with Cathay Pacific in 1982, working in a number of airport-related positions, and then joined Dragonair in 1994.

Mr Yau has extensive experience in the aviation industry and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in Hong Kong and a Fellow of the Society of Business Practitioners in the UK.

Peter Sanderson

Captain Peter Sanderson was appointed Director Operations in September 2014. He oversees the development and management of policies in the airline's Operations Division to ensure the safe, effective and economical operation of the airline's fleet. He also manages all elements of operational activity to ensure Dragonair complies fully with the requirements of its Air Operator's Certificate.

Captain Sanderson has considerable experience in the aviation industry. He joined Dragonair in 1993 and has held various positions including Check & Training Captain, Fleet Manager Airbus and Assistant General Manager Operations.

Prior to joining Dragonair, Captain Sanderson worked for the UK carrier Dan-Air and served in the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm. He is a graduate of the INSEAD Asian Executive Programme.

Mike Kitney

Mr Mike Kitney was appointed General Manager Aircrew & Ground Services for Dragonair in October 2014.

He is responsible for overseeing all the support aspects of the Operations Division, with a primary responsibility for the provision and deployment of suitably qualified aircrew, while ensuring that all aircrew, security, ground services and cargo functions are run in accordance with company policy.

Mr Kitney has considerable experience within Dragonair, having worked in various areas, including recruitment, rostering, security and aircrew management, since joining the airline in 1993.

Prior to joining Dragonair, Mr Kitney worked for Cork Gully in the UK and was also a police inspector in the Royal Hong Kong Police Force. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Aberdeen University and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Heriot-Watt University.

Peter Healey

Captain Peter Healey was appointed General Manager Flying in October 2014. He is responsible for overseeing that all line operations, flight crew training  and operational support functions are provided in accordance with company policy. He also oversees the development and implementation of Dragonair’s Flight Operations Policy.

Captain Healey has considerable experience in the aviation industry. He joined Dragonair in 1994 and has held various positions in the airline including Check & Training Captain, Training Manager, Head of Training and Chief Pilot.

Prior to joining Dragonair, Captain Healey had worked for different carriers including Ansett Airlines and Malaysia Airlines. He started his flying career operating charter flights in the Australian outback.

Brian Yuen

Mr Brian Yuen was appointed General Manager - Inflight Services in August 2014.

He oversees all aspects relating to inflight services in Dragonair including inflight services development, inflight catering and inflight sales. He is also responsible for the development and deployment of cabin crew in delivering world-class service on one of the leading airlines in the region.

Mr Yuen joined the Cathay Pacific Group in 2005 and has held a variety of managerial positions within the Group. As well as a number of positions in Hong Kong, he has also worked in the Group’s offices in Korea, Malaysia and the Middle East. Prior to taking up his current role, he was Country Manager UAE & Qatar for Cathay Pacific.

Mr Yuen graduated from Carnegie Mellon University, USA, majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a minor in Business Administration.

Alex Lau

Mr Alex Lau was appointed as Dragonair’s General Manager International Affairs on 1 April 2013. He is responsible for the airline’s traffic rights as well as handling regulatory issues.

Before joining Dragonair, Mr Lau was General Manager Commercial at Air Hong Kong from 2004 to 2013, responsible for commercial issues as well as airline planning, international affairs and ground handling arrangements.

Before joining Air Hong Kong he was Manager Cargo Sales Development for Cathay Pacific, working in the airline’s Cargo Department from 1988 to 2004. 

Mr Lau holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Hong Kong.


Ms. Grace Lee was appointed Head of Corporate Communication for Dragonair in January 2010.

She is responsible for the operation and strategic direction of the airline’s network-wide corporate communication, including all public and media relations, public affairs and corporate social responsibility programmes.

Prior to taking up her new position, Ms Lee was Marketing Director for the Hong Kong Design Centre. She has extensive experience in the areas of marketing and communications, including media and stakeholder relations, corporate communications, publications, event management, sponsorship and fundraising, and business matching. She has worked in both the business and public sectors for organisations involved in tourism, banking, sports, education and the design industry.

Ms Lee graduated from the Hong Kong Baptist University and later gained a Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Strathclyde in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Darryl Chan

Mr. Darryl Chan was appointed Head of Engineering in August 2008. He is responsible for ensuring the Dragonair fleet is safe and reliable by working with partners Cathay Pacific Airways, Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited and Taikoo (Xiamen) Aircraft Engineering Company Limited. He is also a Director of Dah Chong Hong - Dragonair Airport GSE Services Limited. 

Prior to joining Dragonair, Mr Chan held various management positions in Cathay Pacific Airways, starting as an Engineering Trainee in 1990 and held a variety of posts including Technical Services Manager (Boeing), Manager Aircraft Engineering and Manager Engineering Planning. 

Mr Chan is a Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and Honorary Secretary of its Hong Kong Branch. He is also Deputy Chairman of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers Aircraft Engineering Discipline Advisory Panel and Executive Member of the Hong Kong Aviation Industry Association. 

Mr Chan works extensively with local education and is an advisor for Hong Kong University, Hong Kong Polytechnic University & VTC Youth College. 

Mr Chan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Air Transport Engineering from the City University London.

Wendy Kwan

Ms. Wendy Kwan was appointed Head of Personnel for Dragonair in August 2012. She is responsible for overseeing the overall personnel function within Dragonair, ensuring the establishment and implementation of proper personnel policies, good employment practices and a corporate benefits programme with the aim of meeting specific human resources requirements and ensuring that Dragonair operates as a good employer.

Ms. Kwan concurrently holds the position of Head, Personnel Management Hong Kong Ground Staff in Cathay Pacific Airways and oversees the personnel management for all ground employees based in Hong Kong. She joined the Swire Group in 1986 and later transferred to Cathay Pacific where she held various Personnel positions within the airline.

Ms. Kwan holds a Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Business Administration from Simon Fraser University in Canada.


Mr Rob Holliday was appointed Manager Airline Safety Dragonair in November 2015. He is responsible for the independent oversight of all aspects of operational and occupational safety within Dragonair, providing advice on risk management, risk mitigation and safety actions to the senior management team. He ensures that the company’s Safety Management System is both compliant, and continuously improved, in accordance with standards set by the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department, IATA and ICAO.

Prior to joining Dragonair, Mr Holliday was Airline Safety Manager (SMS & OHS) with Cathay Pacific. He has extensive aviation experience, flying as a captain on Boeing and Airbus aircraft for British Midland and Emirates. He took up a role in Standards and Policy for the UK Civil Aviation Authority in 2000. In 2007 he joined Virgin Atlantic, holding key safety positions in the airline, before moving to Cathay Pacific in 2013.

Mr Holliday is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Business Administration from the Open University.
